Today's Thought

Here is some food for thought.

Better to be a nobody and yet have a servant than to be a somebody and have no food.

The righteous care for the needs of their animals, but the kindest acts of the wicked are cruel.

Those who work their land will have abundant food, but those who chase fantasies have no sense.

Proverbs: 12; 9-11

Work

He who is slothful in his work is a brother to him who is a great destroyer. Proverbs 18:9

Laziness casts one into a deep sleep, and an idle person will suffer hunger. Proverbs 19:15

If we do our work sloppily or refuse work we will find ourselves hungry and without means to support ourselves and families. If we scoff at Gods laws and disobey them we will also displease him and bring dishonor to our families.

Simply put, if one works and puts his or her all into the job they are doing the job will speak for its self and provides inner satisfaction. It also pleases God. "He who has a slack hand becomes poor, But the hand of the diligent makes rich. He who gathers in summer is a wise son; He who sleeps in harvest is a son who causes shame. Proverbs 10: 4-5"  If you follow God and do his laws you will find more riches that you can ever imagine. Not the type of riches you can hold in your hand but within your body and soul. I am talking about he riches of a strong family, a place among his chosen people in heaven.  It comes down to each of us having to make a choice. Do we follow what God has laid out for us or do we go our own way and try to get the same results. One thing for sure is, if we go it alone life will be a whole lot tougher and we will never attain the same level of well and understanding as his plan for us would provide.

I am not saying I have followed his plan exclusively. I can say I have and continue to try to follow it. One thing I learned a long time ago. "Treat others the way you would have them treat you and your life will be much easier." I know that's a simplified version of the golden rule. I carry that one step further. When I work for someone I work for them the way I would like them to work for me. You would be surprised how quickly you can advance upwards. It may be small movements but as you prove yourself to be able to handle the responsibility given. The next will present itself. One last thought, make your job as fun and fulfilling as possible for you and those who work around you.

He provides

The refining pot is for silver, and the furnace is for gold, And a man is valued by what others say of him. Proverbs 27:21

A mans worth can only be properly measured by those around him. If one has a good reputation and does things for others without an unkind word or thought then he is the one who benefits far more that he that hath the work done for him. The person requesting the work gets what he wanted but the man doing the work will get the value of increased knowledge, possible monetary gains, and his quality of work will surely earn him more work.

I urge all of you to do as I try to do. When you approach a task for yourself or someone for pay do that job to the best of your ability and don't brag about it. Let the quality of workmanship and the receiver of that work do the talking for you. You will find yourself busier than you can imagine. It may take a little while for your work quality and dependability to get around but when it does, your work load will increase. Just remember, God gave you the talent to do whatever it is you do for a living. You should remember also to give back to him at least 10% of everything you earn.

Trust wholly in Him

Here is your quote of the day.

"But my God shall supply all your need according to his riches in glory by Christ Jesus. Philippians 4:19"

God or Money, That is the Choice.

In the King James Bible Luke 16: 12-15 it says (summed up) that you have to choose between the love of God and the love of Money.  No-one can serve two masters.

If you have a love of money you will inevitably push God aside to continue making more money. In the end where does that get you. In a home here on earth that is lavish and dripping with gold and other fine trappings. Fast, fancy cars and a life style that presses you hard to make even more money to keep that lifestyle. When that lifestyle you have created finally falls apart because you cannot make enough money to maintain it where will you be and what will you do. Gone will be your fancy cars and big expensive homes and you will be left with nothing. Unless at some point in your life you see the end coming and accept Jesus into your heart and begin to follow his path. Not to make money but to truly follow his path for you.

Don't get me wrong, we all need money to live and provide for our families.  However, if you choose to truly follow God instead of making a false showing to love him where everyone sees you profess to love and follow him but then in when the public eye is no longer upon you follow a different path. Then whats the use of even saying your following the path he laid out for you. It will end the same as if you love money. Disaster.  If you take him into your heart with all honesty you will not believe the transformation that will take place. You will have a life that is fulfilling to say the least. Hebrews 13: 5Be ye free from the love of money; content with such things as ye have: for himself hath said, I will in no wise fail thee, neither will I in any wise forsake thee. Happiness and wealth come in many forms. The wealth of riches, money and worldly things is one way.

The way I find myself rich is, family. I have a larger than average family, all healthy and each with their own personal and physical challenges but, we all love each other, and know that a family that follows God will be richer by far than one that dose not. We may not be dripping with money, in fact quite the opposite is true. Like most people we live from paycheck to paycheck but what we have is Peace in knowing that when its time to move on to another place, God will be there to greet us. Sure like everyone else we are not perfect and will have to answer for the things we did or do that are not in accordance with his laws and he will make the choice to let us into heaven or not.

Until next time... God Speed to you all....

Daily Verse

I have been using a new site called The New Believer for the daily bible verse.  This is a complete Bible Study site. They are a Biblical Research and Teaching Ministry as well as a Fellowship Center.  You can find them at Believer.com. Once you have set up your user name you can take part in bible studies, do research, build a friends network or visit the store. All in all they appear to be a very good site to get hooked up with. I'm betting you could actually set up a youth or adult bible study so everyone would be on the same page each week. I will check it out a little further and let you know.  The other nice thing is you can download a daily verse to your google home page.

Bible Ref Online

We all know there are numerous apps online for everything from alarm clocks to zebras. I have been doing a little research and found a couple that work well and are accessible through Google Chrome.  The first is an app called "just1word".  It has various from the Van Dyke Arabic Bible to the New Living Testament. This particular version allows you to search by Books, Keywords, Bible stories, or Topics.

As an example we will say we want to locate Sermon on the Mount. you would select Stories then enter and a list of stories appears along the right side. Then you scroll down until you find the story "Sermon on the Mount and select it. The program takes you directly to it. Matthew 5 verse 1. Also along the right side is a place where you can create and save your own files.  Once you have read the selected story you click on related and a list of stories related to sermon on the mount to create a sermon or even a short message for youth or special meetings. Anyone in the religious field should give this a look and if your not its a good way to do your daily reading.

The other app is called Biblia. This one is an actual Bible Study Online located at Biblia.com. This particular app did not impress me much. Seemed cumbersome and you had to have a good working knowledge of the bible to do searches from the main page. They do provide a list of Books of the Bible that one could use to search with.

I recommend the just1word app.
